THE MOST UNTRUSTWORTHY GARAGE I HAVE EVER HAD THE MISFORTUNE TO DEAL WITH.

COMPLETE BUNCH OF LIARS WITH NO MORAL FIBRE SOON TO BE TAKEN TO COUNTY COURT FOR SOMETHING THEY SHOULD HAVE HAD THE DECENCY TO GET FIXED AFTER THE HUGE BALLS UP THEY MADE SELLING US UN MOT, D UN TAXED VEHICLE.

    DO NOT BUY!!!

Ashby and Mann Mitsubishi lied to us about the vehicles condition and after traveling from Newcastle upon Tyne to Hinckley found that the L200 was scratched, kerbed and wreaked of cigarettes.

When confronted about it they played total ignorance and denied misdescribing the vehicle even though they emailed the lies to us.
Begrudgingly we still bought the vehicle as we had travelled 250 miles and needed the pick up.
7 days later I was pulled over by the police and informed that the pick up was untaxed and had no MOT. Thankfully I had receipts etc still in the vehicle and the officer accepted that it was an error by the garage.

THIS GARAGE LET US LEAVE IN A VEHICLE WITH NO MOT NO TAX AND THERFORE UNISURED!!!!

The vehicle was also advertised as an assured Mitaubishi and should have come with a 2 year warranty. We were ripped off and given 3 months warranty.

When I confronted the garage about this they made up every excuse in the book about why they managed to mess up so bad.

The sales man Dave told me to get the vehicle tested and the garage would pay for any repairs needed. The car passed but had advisories for unbalanced brakes. The Manager steve agreed that I should pay for the brakes and he would re imburse me for it.
I said I would need to be paid first then I would get it done. I agreed Id provide the quotation which I did and they could send me a cheque.

A couple of days later the truck developed a gearbox fault and would not work so went into a local Mitsubishi garage for repair.
I contacted Steve the manager and said why not get the brakes done at the same time and it less down time for the truck and it was actually cheaper.

Steve then decided that he didnt want to pay for the brake repairs even though he had made a verbal and legally binding contract to have them repaired.
Steve then began to shout at me down the phone making acusations that I was somehow trying to fiddle things.
He then contacted the garage that was doing repairs and asked them for the brakes thickness etc.
I questioned why he didnt know the thicknesses as the car should have been pdi checked before we bought it.
He then falsified pdi documents with the measurements on which he was only able to produce after he had spoken to the other garage. I confronted his dishonesty via email and he ignored it.

After much aggrevation and annoyance from Steves total inability to string some truth together and back tracking etc he confirmed in writing via email that the car didnt have advisories and so they would not carry out the repairs. I can only assume steve cant read very well because it clearly says brakes need replaced soon and imbalance on the MOT.

I informed steve that I would have a vosa test centre look at the vehicle and re test the brakes.
vosa re tested the brakes and found the exact imbalance and advised that the brakes were worn and needed replaced.

Ashby and Mann were advised again of the vehicles failings and they would still not rectify the problem.

I wrote to them with a letter of intent to make a claim against them and in response they sent a cheque for £100 as a gesture of goodwill and a letter with more lies stating that I said to the sales man that I was going to tax the vehicle myself which is complete and utter nonsense and as they well know is ilegal for them to have let that vehicle leave the premises untaxed Motd.

Rather than sort the issues they would rather tell lies and now end up with a claim against the company not to mention the report to local trading standards and this bad review.

Also you may want to google the company name and see how many times this company has dissolved which just goes to show what a terrible company they are.

Please take my advice and do not buy anything from this terrible garage.

Ashby and Mann Mitsubishi is the closest dealer to me since the Coventry one shut. It's still a bit of a trek but had no problems booking in and getting the truck serviced.
